What inspired you to become the founder of Luxury Caribbean Retreats?
The inspiration behind Luxury Caribbean Retreats came from my deep understanding of the challenges women face during various stages of their lives, especially during menopause. Having spent many years in the hairdressing industry in the UK, I had the privilege of listening to my female clients’ frustrations and concerns about this transformative phase. I realised there was a need for a dedicated space where women could find support, relaxation, and guidance tailored specifically to their needs. That’s when I decided to create Luxury Caribbean Retreats, a haven where women can embark on their wellness journey surrounded by the beauty of Barbados.
What do you love most about living in this beautiful country?
Oh, where do I begin? Barbados holds a special place in my heart. The warm and welcoming spirit of the people, the vibrant culture, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the island all contribute to an extraordinary living experience. I am captivated by the serene beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical landscapes that envelop the island. Barbados offers a sense of tranquility and a deep connection with nature that is unparalleled. It’s a paradise that fosters well-being, and I feel incredibly fortunate to call it my home.
Can you tell us more about the Bright Water Kids Foundation and how the profit from the retreats supports the foundation?
The Bright Water Kids Foundation holds a special place in my heart. As someone who deeply cherishes the transformative power of the ocean, my co-founder Jason and I believe every child should have the opportunity to learn how to swim and develop a profound appreciation for the sea. Our foundation works tirelessly to provide swimming lessons and educational programs to at-risk children, empowering them with essential life skills and fostering a deep connection with the ocean.
The profit that I generate from the Luxury Caribbean Retreats directly supports the foundation’s endeavours. A portion of the proceeds goes towards funding swimming lessons, providing necessary equipment, and organising educational experiences for these children. It brings me immense joy to know that by hosting these retreats, we can create a positive impact in the lives of these young ones and instills a love for the ocean and its’ many wonders.
